The BSc (Hons) Psychology and Counselling programme provides students with a comprehensive understanding of human behaviour, mental health, and therapeutic practice, preparing them to support the psychological wellbeing of individuals and communities. Combining the scientific study of psychology with the principles of counselling, the programme explores how biological, cognitive, emotional, and social factors influence behaviour, relationships, and mental wellbeing. Students develop knowledge in areas such as developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, abnormal psychology, counselling theories, communication skills, ethics, research methods, and mental health promotion.

Through case studies, practical workshops, research projects, reflective practice, and supervised learning activities, students gain valuable experience in applying psychological theory to real-life situations while developing empathy, active listening, critical thinking, and professional communication skills. About Program

The BSc (Hons) Psychology and Counselling programme is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of human behaviour, mental health, and the principles of effective counselling practice. By combining the scientific study of psychology with practical counselling approaches, the programme enables students to explore how biological, cognitive, emotional, social, and cultural factors influence individual behaviour, relationships, and overall wellbeing. Students develop the knowledge and skills needed to understand complex psychological issues while promoting resilience, personal growth, and positive mental health across diverse populations.

The curriculum covers a broad range of subjects, including developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, social psychology, abnormal psychology, personality theory, counselling theories, communication skills, ethics, research methods, mental health promotion, and psychological assessment. Students also examine contemporary issues such as trauma, stress management, addiction, diversity and inclusion, and the impact of social and environmental factors on mental wellbeing.
